I recently completed an on-line taster course #louisefletcher that took me out of my comfort zone and into a way of self-expression that I feel is a true reflection of myself and a style of working that embraces my love of bold line and colour.

Working further on this journey I am experimenting with a smaller 6″ square format. I will choose several of these to develop further. I am enjoying working on Fabriano Artistico 300gsm paper and will carry on my studies using this support. Mediums are acrylic, water-soluable wax pastel, soft pastel and charcoal.
Which is easier said than done. I’m currently doing a course with Karen Stamper that’s having that effect . . . breaking old patterns of movement, and challenging myself to do things differently and use different materials.
I’m also following Louise Fletcher who teaches similar principles. Enjoying the process albeit pretty challenging.
Lovely samples Gill . . . I really like the long landscape format. And isn’t it wonderful when something unexpected turns up that invites further investigation?
Thank you Wendy, it almost has it’s own momentum as long as I don’t try to contain it with my own norms of working.
