What a fabulous time tutoring and sharing laughter with a lovely group of artists in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. I have recently returned from tutoring a weekend semi-abstracted landscape workshop to the PANZ (Pastel Artists of New Zealand) in the stunning Maniototo region.
The aim of the workshop was to capture the essence of the landscape by reducing it’s elements to shapes and texture and depicting emotion/memory through image choice, colour and mark making. This workshop was an opportunity to loosen up and experiment with a variety of media, with some fabulous work created.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in this inspiring weekend! With heartfelt thanks to the amazing Julie Greig, Master Pastelist, without whom the weekend would not have been possible.
Future New Zealand workshops can be found on this link.
Should you be part of a soft pastel group who wishes to experiment and discover ways of loosening up and exploring the landscape; parallel to their current style and professional practice please do not hesitate to send me an email – link to contact page here.
Bye for now!
