Jar of Edibles!

This little vase of (mostly) edibles accompanied us on a recent camping trip. Thought it pretty enough to paint. Crazy beginnings for this vase full of colour.

Really pleased with the final piece. Although initially I was unsure of the crazy mark making, it did help break through the daunting whiteness of the paper and was fun. I wonder if we all have a subject and/or medium where we feel safe to ponder for a while? Mine has to be charcoal, pastel and flowers. Another A3 sketchbook study with beginnings in water-soluable oil pastels. I enjoy the carefree scribbling and painterly blending with water...freedom.
