Art Workshops

My art workshops are aimed at the beginner and those wanting to make time to return to their creative pursuits. Over the last ten years I have found the process of using step-by-step demonstrations the most productive and motivating teaching style. It takes away any concerns of having to be imaginative (which along with the use of medium grows over time), and allows the student to relax into the class and gently explore the chosen medium. I still, as a practicing artist use the techniques I teach, they have become core to my artistic work.

Over the years I have witnessed a number of my students go on to develop their own artistic practice with exhibitions as well as diversifying into other creative genres – it truly is a joy to know that in some small way I have helped support that freedom of expression. My workshops are about “Building Creative Confidence” , once this confidence has been discovered; and in some cases rediscovered, it truly motivates the student to want to produce further work. I aim to facilitate an atmosphere that is warm and friendly within a small creative group. I thoroughly enjoy teaching art and find it both inspiring and a privilege to support others to find the relaxation and joy found through making art – I hope one day to support you to discover your creativity.
